Frequently Asked Questions

How do you know if your therapist is a good fit?

If you feel comfortable, supported, and productive in sessions that is usually a great way to gauge the connection you share with your therapist. A therapeutic relationship is an intimate one, in the sense that you become vulnerable and honest with your therapist to build a healthy connection within yourself. There are a lot of great therapists out there, but that doesn’t always mean they’re great for you. I encourage folks to talk openly with me if they feel off within our counseling dynamic to explore ways to move forward together or seek other referral options.

What insurance do you take? What about self-pay?

I am in-network with BCBS, Anthem, Cigna, Aetna, and Optum insurance carriers. If you did not want to use your insurance, or are uninsured, I do offer self-pay therapy for $160 per session with some available sliding scale options. I can also provide a Superbill for potential insurance reimbursement if you are wanting to use OON benefits. I am licensed in both NC & SC for telehealth services.

I’m new to therapy. What should I expect?

Therapy can feel overwhelming at times and I always tell folks that working on yourself is a very humbling and challenging process. We will start by just getting to know each other, what your needs are presently, and what your goals are for the future. I typically meet with clients on a weekly basis for the first 4 weeks to build a foundation, and then we explore if we need to continue weekly or begin spacing out sessions. Our session time frame consists of 60 minute sessions and I may provide additional resources/homework in between sessions.

What is your cancellation policy?

I require a 24-hour notice for late cancellations via email or phone call. If not cancelled within 24 hours, a fee of $75 will be charged to the card on file.
